W/ SOUL

ART GALLERY

Contemporary art. Curated for permanence.

W/ SOUL Art Gallery is a curatorial platform based in Munich, dedicated to the long-term positioning of contemporary artists whose work demonstrates structural coherence, technical integrity, and conceptual clarity.

The gallery operates across three interconnected platforms: curated exhibitions built around coherent artistic dialogue; strategic participation in international art fairs, including ART MUC and selected European fairs; and the W/ SOUL Art Magazine, an ISSN-registered editorial publication archived at the Deutsche Nationalbibliothek.

Curatorial Philosophy

Selection is the primary act. No artwork enters the programme, and no text enters the publication, without meeting five structural criteria: coherence of practice, technical integrity, conceptual clarity, capacity for longevity, and meaningful contribution to cultural dialogue.

These criteria are not hierarchical — they are simultaneous. A work that demonstrates formal rigour without conceptual grounding, or conceptual ambition without material discipline, does not meet the standard. The programme remains deliberately bounded:

a small number of artists, each represented with depth rather than breadth.

The name "W/" means "With". It is not a stylistic abbreviation. It is a condition of entry — a demand that every element of the programme carry structural intention.

Publications

Cover of W/Soul Art Gallery Art Magazine featuring contemporary artwork

The W/ SOUL Art Magazine is a curatorial publication dedicated to the cultural and intellectual dimensions of contemporary art. Each edition is ISSN-registered (ISSN 3053-9943) and archived at the Deutsche Nationalbibliothek, contributing to the long-term documentary record of contemporary artistic practice.

The magazine is not a catalogue and not a news feed. It is an editorial extension of the gallery's curatorial philosophy — a space for critical reflection on practice, form, and cultural context. Editions are produced with the same standards of selection and precision that govern the exhibition programme.

The Founder

Marcelo Leite is a civil engineer and independent curator based in Munich. His curatorial practice is grounded in the analytical disciplines of structural thinking — an approach that prioritises coherence, precision, and long-term relevance over immediate market response.

He founded W/ SOUL Art Gallery as a curatorial platform for contemporary artists whose work meets rigorous structural and conceptual criteria. Under his direction, the gallery has established an ISSN-registered publication archived at the Deutsche Nationalbibliothek and participates in international art fairs including ART MUC. The programme operates across Munich and selected European contexts.
